If you’re in search of a culinary treasure in Ahmedabad, look no further than Gopi Dining Hall. Nestled at 1-5, Ground, Sahjanand Palace on 100 Feet Anand Nagar Rd, this delightful Gujarati restaurant is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic regional flavors. The vibrant atmosphere, coupled with the courteous staff, creates an inviting space where every meal feels like a homecoming.
Gopi Dining Hall is renowned for its tantalizing Gujarati thali, priced at ₹425. This extensive platter is a vibrant showcase of the region’s culinary heritage, featuring dishes that are meticulously crafted to evoke the cherished flavors of traditional Gujarat. Each bite tells a story of home-cooked warmth and nuances, echoing sentiments echoed by customers like Mukesh Chhatbar, who lauded the thali for its comforting resemblance to a home-cooked meal.
For those looking to try something a bit different, the Kathiyawadi thali at ₹475 comes highly recommended. It combines a bold and spicy array of flavors that will intrigue your palate. As R Paul noted, although the ambience is set to a casual backdrop, the experience is elevated through delectable dishes paired with attentive service. Seriously, there’s nothing quite like being pampered with generous servings of homemade goodness while encapsulated in a warm, welcoming environment.
Special highlights include their Gujarati kadhi and khichu, alongside an array of mini food options like the Mini Food Packet at ₹185. Vegetarian fare shines brilliantly here, with an emphasis on fresh, wholesome ingredients devoid of onion and garlic, as noted by patrons seeking a pure taste experience.
Each meal at Gopi Dining Hall envelops you in the charm of Gujarati culture, from the small rituals of serving to the joy of sharing a meal with loved ones. It offers a variety of options—including deluxe and premium tiffins—that cater to every taste and occasion. The feedback speaks volumes; diners like Sumit Saraswat emphasize that coming here with family is ideal for relishing the exquisite flavors of both Gujarati and Kathiyawadi cuisine.
While the prices may be slightly higher, the value in terms of quality and authentic taste far outweighs the cost. As Vikas Meghani observed, dishes like khichu serve as a standout star, further solidifying Gopi Dining Hall's reputation as one of the best venues for Gujarati food in the area.
In essence, Gopi Dining Hall is more than just a place to eat; it’s an exploration of tradition served on a plate. Whether you’re a local or an NRI guest craving a nostalgic taste, this restaurant promises an experience that you’ll cherish long after you’ve left its doors. Don’t miss out—your taste buds will thank you!

Delicious food and very courteous staff who’ll make sure you are over fed. The ambience is good to look at but the music falls out of the place. Should play some good Gujarati tracks rather than run of the mill cafe songs.

Very nice and decent to have pure Gujarati Thali , best part of this thali is as if you are eating at your home. Not so spicy, no onion and no garlic and pure taste of Gujarati taste as compared to others where we get mix of varieties. A must visit place again and again

Good place to enjoy authentic gujarathi thali. Start with papad, dhakala, kachari, puri, roti, chapati with three vegetables. Gujarathi dal and kadhi. Two sweets. All is unlimited. Ambience is ok. Proper hygiene is maintained. Location is good.
